Pathetic is the second single from the unstoppable Melbourne freight train of heaviness that is Deadweight 80. The track also features the brutal Jake Kennedy on guest gutturals and is everything good the band has been working towards over the past four years.
Multiple line up changes didn’t stop Rhys Julian and Milein as it led them to finding Big Boy Brandyn on the bass and Pocket Rocket Rick (the stick) on vocals, helping the band to find its true final form. 2022 was a blistering 25+ gig onslaught across 3 states.
Pathetic is a massive group effort enlisting the help of Lloyd Bond on graphics for the 80’s acid trip vibe. Adam Calaitzis at Toyland Studios helped the boys to record this track which was mixed and mastered by Roman Koester at Complex Studios in Western Australia.
The whole project was coordinated by the bands manic drummer Milein and finally released on January 20, kicking 2023 in the ass. It is the first of many more videos filmed and with more videos planned they have planned a relentless onslaught for the foreseeable future.
The band will be heading to Tasmanian for the Defile the Apple Isle Tour on February 24/25 with Zeolite and The Orphan plus local supports The Absolution Sequence and Pulverised Cranial Matter. Playing Altar, Hobart on 24/02 and Gunners Arms on 25/02 with help of Antithesis Bookings handling all of the best local gigs going through Tassie.
