Everybody has a wild side, something sinister just under the surface.
Leave it to He Danced Ivy to draw out that madness in their wild new single Spitting On Infinity; a thrashing ruckus full of distorted guitars and unique satirical lyrics that will have you feeling wilder than the house party it was recorded during.
To celebrate the release of Spitting On Infinity, He Danced Ivy will be taking to the stage with international legends Polyphia and Intervals on Monday, September 24.
Spitting On Infinity is the perfect tune for a wild Saturday night, recorded in part during one of those wild Saturday nights when the group gathered a choir of their best mates in a Fortitude Valley parking lot.
“We gathered 25 of our closest friends and crammed them into an outdoor carpark to record the big last chorus group vocals. I don’t know how we didn’t get shut down, but listening back to our wild carpark-choir is easily one of our greatest memories,” saidbassist, Mitch.
All for the theatrics, He Danced Ivy always weave some kind of insane narrative into their music; just try to piece this one together.
“The song tells this story of this narcissist that’s in a relationship that’s falling apart. All the classic culprits are there; in-law drama, compartmentalized emotions, backstabbing, and the false hope that things will get better,” said lead vocalist, Dave.
“Each feeling is painted with equal parts with and sleaze as the narcissist loses all care for subtlety. They begin to revel in the opportunity to lie, cheat, and steal; hell with the consequences. They’re finished, all that’s left is to spit on infinity and piss on the sun,” said lead guitarist, Sean.
Spitting On Infinity is the follow up to their Frankenstein’s monster of a single,Guillotines, released in July, which saw the boys step loudly into the spotlight scoring a rotation spot on triple j Unearthed, support from community radio and taste-maker blogs across the country.
