DALLAS FRASCA & SARAH MCLEOD – THE GREEN ELECTRIC TOUR: Mo’s Desert Clubhouse 27/02/26

Pix by Sarah Gilpin

On a wet Friday night, after a delicious Mexican feast from El Rancheros, a synthesised bag pipes intro started kicking off over at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse. It was followed by hard rocking heavy blues driven fingerpicked guitar lick by Dallas Frasca that kick off the night. Dallas was joined onstage by a drummer, and with one click of the foot a bass player magically appeared through the speakers, but not onstage.

Unlike the name of this tour, The Green Electric tour, Dallas’ hair was very red and very big. Apparently, this is a sustainable tour, whatever that means? Well, what it means is that across 15 dates over February and March of 2026, both Dallas and Sarah will be using inset emissions strategies to reduce and offset their impact within the operations around live touring. One thing is for sure; the blues licks are sustained track after track and Dallas commands the crowd’s attention with the skill of her fingers and the beckoning call of her raspy commanding vocals.

Due to some dental issues, Dallas and Sarah’s Guitar Tech could not make it to the show, but luckily Dallas managed to string her own acoustic so she could dedicate a track called River Queen to him. A switch back to a funky looking Les Paul electric copy came with the added bonus of some tuning issues, but Dallas was able to sort it out pretty quickly. Where is that bloody guitar tech when ya need him? They might wanna tell him to hit the Bonjella and walk it off!

The crowd was informed that the merch was 100% recycled material just before Dallas kicked into Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song, apparently just because she couldn’t help herself. The crowd were sure glad she could not. She finished her set by telling us that All Her Love Has Gone and getting the crowd to yell back that all theirs is gone as well. The licks did not go anywhere though, they kept rocking hard into a solo, and throughout the singalong until she hit her final big note and cleared the stage to make way for Sarah!

Sarah McLeod made her way onstage by herself alone and started rocking out a riff. Shortly after she was joined by a solid rock beat and so the fun begun. It was all red with Sarah rocking out an oversized San Fran 49ers No.5 Garcia jersey.

Fashion aside, Sarah commanded the stage and in a non-stop assault delivered a mix of her solo work, Superjesus work and odd cover or two with songs including Never Enough, Private School Kid and House of the Rising Sun. And then the crowd got to all get Down Again to a massive, detuned riff that most people mistakenly refer to as a song that is not actually called Better That Way!

Sarah’s drummer was switching between drum kits every couple of songs with the second kit being free from and a kick drum. Just a snare and floor tom keeping the beat simple but solid for a cover of Tay Tay’s Wildest Dreams. Sarah’s hits kept coming with He Doesn’t Love You & Gravity before Sarah invited the crowd to sing a song with her, which they gladfully accepted. The song was Max Merrit & The MeteorsSlipping Away.

Sarah then announced a Grand Finale with Dallas to join her back on stage for a rendition of James Brown‘s It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World. Dallas stayed up for an extra treat and the women in red bust out Bikini Kills’ Rebel Girl. Sarah then asked if the crowd wanted one more, or if they were too tired before they cracked into Creedance Clearwater Revival‘s Fortunate Son.

As it appeared like it was all about to end, the ladies launched into another one, a Revolution even. These red lady Beatles just kept crawling on, and on, and on. Just one more they say. Just a quick guitar battle with octave drivers to fatten up the sound, a twist of Voodoo Chile and then a Mexican drum off. They are all just showing off now!

Finally, they end the show with their recent release ‘Til It’s Gone which is not actually a cover of Brittney’s song. Well, at least I don’t think it is. What a display of sheer talent and absolute musical brilliance! Well played ladies, well played!
