Cradle Of Filth: The Manticore and Other Horrors

Share This:

The highly-infectious new album from Cradle Of Filth is all you’d expect from the symphonic black metal act, plus more.

Haunting melodies and creepy orchestral interludes are in abundance on the latest opus, but what gives this album its edge is the further incorporation of different metal styles.

Just when the album begins to linger around the same structure, an inspired, early-era thrash riff will rear its head without the accompaniment of the orchestral backing, showcasing a side of Cradle Of Filth that has always been evident but has never quite sounded so bold in this context. The Manticore And Other Horrors is both refreshing and boldly encompassing for a band on their tenth record.
