Proving your mettle as a Heavy act is tough in today’s market and in Britain it’s almost impossible. But South Wales five-piece, Continents, have fought to make their mark. ‘Idle Hands’ boasts great energy and provides plenty of opportunities to bang your head. The punky ‘Exhale’ is designed for live shows will make you move, while pure Metal anthem, ‘Truth and Lies’, is brilliantly chaotic. Stand out track, ‘Pegasus’, is a symphony of eclectic riffs, deep growls and a burst of clean vocals. There are three instrumentals that fail to serve the record as well and aren’t much more than padding, but Idle Hands is still a wonderful, aggressive debut.
