Known for their raw energy and unrestrained soundscapes, Coilguns take a bold step in a new direction with their latest single The Wind To Wash The Rain, showcasing a more introspective side. The single envelops listeners in melancholic harmonium layers, timpani, and haunting melodies, a stark contrast to the band’s usual sonic intensity. However, Coilguns doesn’t stray too far from their roots, ending the song with a climactic surge of distorted guitars and feedback.
Commenting on the single, lead vocalist Louis Jucker shares: “When you’re feeling down again, and that pain feels like an old one, something you’ve felt already, almost familiar, too normal to be dangerous, yet too real to be ignored, only thing you’ve left to do is wait for the wind to wash it all away. Until it comes back again.”
The Wind To Wash The Pain is a new single from the band’s forthcoming album Odd Love, due for release on November 22 via Humus Records.
