Chainline, a metal band from Valkeakoski, Finland, will release their debut album The First Notes on November 13, 2026. The ten-track album tells the story of an unstable person’s journey through fear, substance abuse, psychological abuse, isolation, and a gradual loss of control.
Musically, Chainline combines melodic metal, clean vocals, heavy riffs, and modern breakdowns. The band playfully refers to their style as Melodic Powercore. The album’s songs, artwork, and other visual material build a world in which the presence of a person who is clearly in need of help has become so normalized that it is simply part of everyday life. His need for help is obvious, yet the surrounding community and its structures are either unable or unwilling to intervene. Life around him continues as normal while his own reality gradually begins to unravel. The album’s lyrics are his written observations, experiences, and reflections on himself and the world he lives in. In the end, one question remains open: which is truly more disturbed — him, or the world around him?
