Brewtality Festival Spotlight: Spacejunk

The Brewtality Festival is on again this year and HEAVY Music Magazine is proud to be a presenting partner. The event will be held on 8 August across two venues; The Tote and The Bendigo Hotel.

We caught up with Spacejunk to get an insight into the band, what you can expect from them at Brewtality Festival and more.
What’s your latest release?
We released a self titled album on High Kick Records in early 2014 and the follow up will be out by the end of 2015. Keep an ear out for that one.

How has 2015 started out for your band?
We’ve managed to get a new record underway. We’ve had some great local supports and regional shows, which have gone really well and playing with shows with Digger and The Pussycats,The Peep Tempel, Shit Sex and River of Snakes are highlights.
Can you give me a few words that would make me come over to your stage and watch your set?
We play fuzz-punk-rock’n’roll, hit our instruments hard and fast and we don’t mess around.

What song is going to be the highlight of your Brewtality set, the one that will really engage with the crowd?

We’ve got a new song called Rain which has a big breakdown. If you like watching a drummer destroy a kit behind a wall of feedback, then this is for you.

If there was one song in history that you could have written, what would it be and why?

That’s easy. I think of Demons by Roky Erickson and the Aliens. It’s simple, demented and has sick licks.
