The Brewtality Festival is on again this year and HEAVY Music Magazine is proud to be a presenting partner. The event will be held on 8 August across two venues; The Tote and The Bendigo Hotel.
We caught up with Nothing Sacred to get an insight into the band, what you can expect from them at Brewtality Festival and more.
What’s your latest release?
It’s been a long, long time since we had a true ‘latest release’! But last year we did a CD re-issue of the original EP and album. And we added some unreleased studio material plus 4 live tracks from a few years ago to give it a bit of freshness. There have been plenty of eBay bootlegs floating around over the years, so we figured it was time to get it done ‘officially’.
How has 2015 started out for your band?
Brewtality will be our first gig for 2015. Then we’re off to Osaka a few weeks after that, then headlining the Friday night at the two day “Steel Assassins” festival in Sydney at the start of November. With any luck we’ll have a vinyl picture disc re-issue of the original EP available at Brewtality, fresh from the manufacturer in Germany. We hope.
Can you give me a few words that would make me come over to your stage and watch your set?
“Come watch us, or the kitten dies.”
What song is going to be the highlight of your Brewtality set, the one that will really engage with the crowd?
For those who’ve seen us before, the set closer Deathwish tends to end things on a high note. Among the newer tracks, Final Crime has been getting a lot of good feedback. But hopefully there’s something for everyone in any song we write, right?
If there was one song in history that you could have written, what would it be and why?
It’s a little known fact that we actually wrote most of Master of Puppets, but Ulrich and Hetfield stole an early demo and re-recorded/released it before we could. Sure, we could have sued them over it, but that would just make it look like we’re only in it for the money. Believe us, we are soooo not in it for the money.
