Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia Metal/ Hardcore neck benders 23/19 have just dropped their second release for 2018, this a 2 song offering entitled Two More Reasons To Hate Us.
Reason for such a quick follow up to the Broken E.P. “We weren’t super happy, we were happy but Broken didn’t give us exactly what we wanted it didn’t portray 23/19 exactly how we wanted, the music we wanted to make, that’s why we went back into the studio and recorded Two More Reasons To Hate Us” states lead singer of 23/19 Nathan Stuckey.
Just over a month ago 23/19 gave us the first half of Two More Reasons To Hate Us by releasing the first single/ film clip “Thousand Eyes (Restrict)” on social media. This dark attack on the senses was Filmed by non-other than producer Colin Jeffs (Colin Jeffs Media). “We talked to the people we were recording with and said like who do you recommend would accumulate this kind of vibe that we want and they recommended Colin Jeffs and he was like super easy to work with from day one some things went wrong during the actual shoot that we weren’t prepared for he dealt with it there and then and he wasn’t like freaking out was like super calm, and just got it done”
It’s very clear that 23/19 is all about having fun, getting together with mates, recording and playing live shows and fitting as many breakdowns in a possible “We just wanted to make breakdowns at shows”, “We all work so well together because we have all known each other since we were like 14 so there’s like 10 years of friendship in 23/19” and “We kinder started the band to play live, just like mucking around, we kinder owned that art (breakdowns) before we owned the recording side of it”.
