April 26, 2018: 10 Years and Breaking Benjamin packed the House Of Blues Myrtle Beach and put on an unforgettable show. Kicking the night off was 10 years, opened the set with their song “Halos” on a pitch black stage. As the lights came up the crowd started to cheer me get rowdy with a cover of Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box”. This cover was probably one of the better ones I’ve heard live With one point vocals and music. The fan’s emotions made it obvious that loved hearing this rendition of a classic. As the show progressed and songs like “Battle Lust” and “Actions & Motives” were played, it was the song that was soon to follow that made the crowd explode with excitement and light the venue up. As the intro to “Wasteland” began to fill the room, and front man Jesse Hasek welcomed fans to sing along, the crowd connected like it was a small club venue. The large venue and large crowd suddenly felt small as the song echoed throughout and you heard fans sing along to every word. As the set came to a close there was one song left for the band. “Burnout” was a perfect way to end such a strong and intimate feeling set.

Following up 10 Years was headlining act, Breaking Benjamin. As the crowd waited eagerly for the band to take the stage you could almost feel the anticipation overtake the venue. The red lights came on and “Red Cold River” played causing the crowd’s anticipation to overflow as each member walked onto the stage. Following up was “Angels Fall”, a song that made the venue slow down slightly and listen in closely to the lyrics. Watching fans wave their phone flashlights in the air and sing along was an awesome thing to see. The crowd was treating a song that wasn’t really as if it were. As the set moved forward and we heard favourites such as “I Will Not Bow”, “Failure”, “Breath”, and “So Cold” the crowd’s energy changed with each song so smoothly creating a feeling of time standing still for the entire set. When “Breath” started the energy change was so strong it was as if time froze all at once and the band delivered a spine-chilling performance of one of my personal favourites. The most moving song live was the final song of the night, Breaking Benjamin’s hit song “The Diary Of Jane”. Hearing such a strong and emotional song live was absolutely haunting in the best way possible. The fans all sang along with the band and the emotion from every member truly made this a memorable performance. Though the show felt as if it was over too soon, I can honestly say that Breaking Benjamin and 10 Years put on one of the best shows that I have seen at the House Of Blues.
