Brisbane metal outfit Born Again Hypocrite release their heaviest anthem to date, Grave Effigy, today, Saturday, October 4, 2025. A blistering fusion of bone-rattling riffs, venom-laced vocals, and thunderous rhythm, Grave Effigy cuts deep into themes of corruption, collapsing institutions, and reclaiming truth from manipulation. Drenched in apocalyptic imagery, it’s powered by the anthemic warning: “The big one is coming.”
Frontman Si RW says: “Grave Effigy is about tearing down false idols and exposing the poison they feed us. Brutal, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore. This is us at our heaviest.”
Formed during COVID, Born Again Hypocrite first made their mark with debut EP Scamdemic (2021), before kicking off Chapter II with The Shallows (Jan 2025). With a new EP due in early 2026, Grave Effigy shows the band at their sharpest and most uncompromising yet.
