“This location has been our goal since we conceived the event in 2012. It’s one of the most spectacular festival sites in the country. It will allow us the space to build an event the likes of which Australia has never seen!” – Pirate (Festival Organiser)
The campground is in a secluded and shady valley, surrounded by red cliff escarpments. Across the river is the Ross River Resort that features cabins, restaurant and bar facilities and a swimming pool.
Blacken Open Air has grown from a single day event in 2013 to a two day and night event that brings in bands from around the country. Past headliners have included Psycroptic, High Tension, Whoretopsy, Disentomb, Frankenbok and King Parrot. The Black Wreath are promising next year’s lineup will be the biggest yet!
