South east Queensland riff commanders, The Black Swamp will independently release their new EP, Witches on February 1, 2018
Recorded at Housefox Studio’s in Sydney with studio head Ryan Miller (Black Rheno) at the helm of engineering and production, Witches will be the bands first release with new vocalist Luke Hosking (Azreal) on board.
While worshipping the doom/sludge high lords of the 70’s, The Black Swamp take that Sabbath base and infuse some modern Baroness and Mastodon like melody. Throwing out grooves made for nodding heads and emptying beers.
Beginning as a live act in 2012, the Swamp have slimed out an LP, an EP, and a handful of un-official releases on their way to support slots with Hellyeah, Black Label Society and Sebastian Bach, as well as peddling their music around the country on their own national tours.
The Black Swamp set out to inspire their fans to have a beer drenched, blazing good time. Their lyrical content and artwork tackle themes and imagery of space, earth, reflection and… a bloody good time!
If the power of the riff compels you, then The Black Swamp probably will too. No reinventing the wheel here, thy riffs runneth over.
The band will play two final shows for 2017 before preparing for the release of Witches in the new year.
