Black Sabbath to feature first song on CSI finale.

Share This:

As the wait for the most anticipated metal album of the year nears, the world will get to see the first song released publicly from the upcoming Black Sabbath album 13  on of all places the CSI season finale.

While some fans may be asking “who are you?”, for the band to preview a song on a popular tv show, the context of the episode centers on the lead characters, (when did Grisham leave?) going to a Black Sabbath concert to investigate a series of murders with striking similarities to the sins in Dante’s Inferno. Spoiler alert: Some fans may be disappointed to learn Sharon is not one of the victims.

It’s here that the world premier of the track ‘End of the Beginning’ will be played.

The episode will screen in the U.S on May 15th and seeing the track goes for 7 minutes, it is highly unlikely it will be performed in full, so hopefully Australian and New Zealand audiences will have heard the song in it’s entirety before then when Sabbath’s first tour to our shores since 1973 kicks off in Auckland on April 20th.

Producers for the show are rightly thrilled that the band chose CSI as the medium to premier the track which suitably fits with this being the shows 13th season. CSI still wins consecutively in the tv ratings and no doubt this will help skyrocket viewers that night as hoards of metal and rock fans tune in.

For those that might feel a little irate at the news that the pioneers of metal will be appearing on a sappy American crime show, they should at least take comfort in the fact that it could’ve been worse. It could’ve been CSI Miami and we’ve all been spared Horatio’s over dramatised taking off of his sunglasses as he enters the arena.

13 will be available from June 11th through Vertigo Records.
