Black Rheno’s MASSIVE Bad Ass Tour in celebration of their latest single A Bad Ass Love Song kicks off in just a few weeks and this thing is absolutely stacked with dates all along the East Coast of Australia right throughout August. This tour sees them hitting both capital cities and a host of regional spots that often get overlooked. Teaming up with some of the sickest local heavy bands around (see below) at each of their 11 stops, there’s zero doubt these shows will be jam-packed with total chaos in all its finest forms. From sludge, groove, grind, punk, death, thrash, stoner and more, this tour is loaded with all the satanic sonic delights one could ask for… and oh my, riffs – there will be plenty of them!
Black Rheno’s Bad Ass Tour will also see the guys appearing at two mammoth festivals. On August 23 in Brisbane, they’ll play Necrosonic, alongside acts such as PORTAL, BÖLZER (Switzerland), ABRAMELIN, BEANFLIPPER, LORD KAOS, DAYSEND, and over 25 other epic heavy acts. Then they’ll wrap up the tour on August 30 at Metal Fiesta, co-headlining with their good mates DEPRIVATION, and joined by POST HUMAN, DEATHBEDS, FUTILITY, and more.
Black Rheno’s latest single, A Bad Ass Love Song, takes the listener on a full three-minute journey, shifting gears from fully trashed-out hardcore punk into hooky rock ‘n’ roll, and then into big, southern, sludgy riffs. At its core, it’s unmistakably Black Rheno, their signature sound is all over it, but at the same time, it marks a clear progression from where they’ve come from. There’s a new energy here, compared to their debut record Noise Smasher and it’s something we’ve been hearing more and more of in recent releases with tracks like Snake Will Rattle and Chopping Heads Wearing Fancy Threads.
