NOTHING MORE
3X Grammy Award-nominated NOTHING MORE return with their fifth album, CARNAL which features 15 songs with the San Antonio, TX-born quartet’s most focused, adventurous, and intense music to date, including their current radio single IF IT DOESN’T HURT which is currently in the Top 10 at #9 on the Active Rock radio charts and rising. Recorded with Grammy-nominated producer WZRD BLD (Disturbed,
Motionless In White, A Day To Remember) with mixing and mastering by Zakk Cervini (Limp Bizkit, MGK, Bring Me The Horizon), CARNAL unites NOTHING MORE’s trademark introspective philosophical lyrics and unapologetically massive anthems with in-your-face rockers designed for an all-encompassing audience.
“‘CARNAL’ feels like a perfect encapsulation of what NOTHING MORE has always been,” says guitarist MARK VOLLELUNGA. “From progressive introspection to steady-state rock ‘n roll, we felt like we’ve achieved the exact balance wanted for this next instalment.”
FROM ASHES TO NEW
Alt-metalers FROM ASHES TO NEW announced the release of a digital deluxe edition of their critically acclaimed, #1-charting 2023 concept album BLACKOUT along with the release of One Foot In The Grave (feat. Aaron Pauley from Of Mice & Men). BLACKOUT (DELUXE) will consist of the album’s original 12 tracks, plus six bonus tracks. Also, amongst the new tracks is the currently rising Top 20 single Barely
Breathing (feat. Chrissy Costanza from Against The Current), which has garnered over 8 million streams and views since February.
Additional cuts include a feature from Yelawolf; a Sullivan King remix of their Top 5- charting radio single Nightmare; and an acoustic version of their single Hate Me Too. The latter song landed in the Top 10 Active Rock radio charts and was listed in Loudwire’s “Most-Played Songs on Rock Radio in 2023.
THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT
Theatrical emo rock group THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT shared the first new video You’re So Ugly When You Cry featuring guest vocals from Bert McCracken of seminal emo rock outfit The Used who boast 2X RIAA Platinum certified releases (2002’s self- titled debut The Used and 2004’s In Love and Death), a RIAA Gold certification for 2007’s Lies For The Liars, and over 1.1 billion overall career streams. The song contrasts upbeat anthemic pop-punk melodies with lyrics about hitting rock bottom. “It’s not about healing, or the come-up later on, it’s about telling people ‘it sucks right now, I don’t like who I am when I’m like this, and I know you’ve felt the same way,” according to THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT vocalist LEE JENNINGS.
“Working with Bert was a lifelong dream come true for us,” exclaims JENNINGS. “We all grew up with The Used being one of our biggest influences and it was a surreal moment when he reached back out saying he loved the song and wanted to be involved.”
CORY MARKS
According to singer-songwriter CORY MARKS, 2024 will be A Different Kind Of Year as the dual-genre artist leans into his country side for his latest single. The rousing track was written post-pandemic as a feel-good anthem and was produced by longtime collaborator Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch, Shania Twain). A Different Kind Of Year will be included on MARKS’ forthcoming sophomore album, due later this year.
The new video show cases Cory on the road and captures special moments with other artists and his adoring fans. Featured in this video is also Tyler Connolly of Theory Of a Dean Man, DL of Bad Wolves, along with local country artists and crew.
“It’s the start of a brand-new year, a chance for you to start fresh, refocus and see what is really important in this life,” shares MARKS. “This new song is all about good times, re-connecting with family and friends. Committing to yourself to make things better in the year ahead and not taking those special things for granted. It’s a country song for country people, so cheers. Here’s to you, here’s to me and a different kind of year!”
CROSSBONE SKULLY
To celebrate April 23 Full moon, rising new rock outfit CROSSBONE SKULLY unleashed the howling and eerie track I Am The Wolf. The premiere was followed by a special announcement from CROSSBONE SKULLY frontman TOMMY HENRIKSEN (guitarist and musical director for Alice Cooper’s band and member of Hollywood Vampires) and the band’s guitarist ANNA CARA.
“When I wrote the lyrics to ‘I Am The Wolf,’ I found my spirit animal,” says HENRIKSEN. “It’s a one-way trip to hell to kill the devil and destroy anything in my way…to find my rebirth and reclaim my worth! For I Am The Wolf!”
