Besomora emerged onto the Australian metal scene in early 2021. Despite the world shutting down for that year, the Sydney-based four piece has since been making up time on the live circuit and is developing an ever-growing fan base. This includes myself. Besomora have a high-energy live show
and I jumped straight on the bandwagon the first time I saw them live.
After the release of three singles over 2021 and 2022, Besomora are ready to take on the world with the release of their debut EP – Delusional Monster. Here is a melodic death metal release which really showcases the band’s distinctive sound that encompasses old-school metal influences with true melodic death. Besomora draws inspiration for their music and lyrics from dark spirits and demons, and this is reflected throughout this EP.
Opening with blast beats and uncompromising vocals, Delusional Monster takes you on a heavy melodic deathlike journey while also incorporating elements of progressive and doom metal. Sharp guitar solos and a heavy bass complete the powerful and tight package that are Besomora.
Featuring the extraordinary guitar talents of Joe Haley (Psycroptic) on Mass Starvation, which was Besomora’s second single release of 2022, and Tobi Morelli (Archspire) on Suffocate Me, Delusional Monster has taken a monumental step forward for the band. Beyond Atrocity slows the tempo right down and evokes deep emotion. With mesmerising melodies and sinister lyrics, this track promises to take you down a dark and powerful path.
Delusional Monster is a hard-hitting debut release, and Besomora certainly get the message across that they mean business with their professionalism and musicianship. With a precise medley of elements and the intensity of the music and lyrics, Delusional Monster is highly recommended to metal fans of all persuasions.
