Australia get ready because Beartooth are coming. These guys have been shredding on stages right across the States since the release of their third album, Disease, late last year. With a legion of new fans at hand and the fact that they have never headlined in Australia before, this is going to be a tour that no Aussie music fan wants to miss. To find out exactly what is coming our way HEAVY Mag sat down with the band’s lead singer Caleb Shomo for a little chat.
“Man we are so fucking stoked to be coming back, especially headlining,” says Shomo the excitement easy to pick in his voice. “I mean Australia has always been one of our favourite places to play, but it is tough to get over to. So it has to be the right tour and financially it is tough for an American band to get over there. But we are at the point now where we can finally make a headliner happen and we are really excited because that means we get to come over and play as a full show, and to make sure that it will be the full Beartooth experience. We haven’t been able to do that before so we are beyond stoked for that.”
“I mean the set list is the main thing,” he explains when I ask what the full Beartooth experience entails. “We have so many songs that we have never been able to play. Most of the times we have been over there we’ve only had a half hour to play and our normal set as a headliner for us is around an hour and a half, so essentially instead of just being able to play six songs we are now going to be able to play sixteen…. and that is really, really exciting for us. There is just something really different about being able to play for that long… it is all going to be great.”
