Emerging from the torrid and dismal desert that is Western Australia, 2025 sees Death Doom purveyors BANISHED REALM unleash Utterances Of An Ennead, an 11 minute, epic opus that continues the tenebrous and sinister sounds found on their Impious Rumination EP whilst adding a melancholic and sorrowful atmosphere via electric violinist Sarah Beth, reminiscent of MY DYING BRIDE, MOURNFUL CONGREGATION, PALLBEARER & HOODED MENACE.
Utterances Of An Ennead also propels the band into new territory with their first ever music video, filmed and edited by Jess Ieritano – Photo & Film, which encompasses the mournful presence and the sombre performance of the song. Conceptually Utterances touches on a fantasized account of the 1959 Dyatlov Pass incident involving the disappearance of 9 Soviet hikers on Kholat Syakhl (or “Dead Mountain” in the local Mansi translation).
