As they gear up for a huge showcase at BIGSOUND 2025 and a co-headlining slot at the dual-state debut of Converge Festival this September, Naarm/Melbourne-based metalcore heavyweights Bad/Love return with their sonically devastating and emotionally cathartic new single What’s Left Here?.
Produced by longtime collaborator Callan Orr (Dream On, Dreamer, Hands Like Houses), with vocal production by Northlane’s Marcus Bridge and mixed & mastered by multiple ARIA nominated producer Forrester Savell (Karnivol, Tesseract), What’s Left Here For Me? merges towering riffs, cinematic soundscapes, glitchy electronics, razor sharp production and mammoth hooks for a raw dive into the band’s darkest moments.
Bad/Love songwriter/guitarist Lachlan Monty explains the meaning behind the track: “‘What’s Left Here?’ is a song that came from a place of absolute emotional collapse. I started writing it years ago after losing a friend to suicide. At first, it came out as anger – a furious ‘What gives you the right?’ – but as I began fighting my own battle with depression and suicidal thoughts, the question turned inward: ‘What’s left here for me?’ That shift changed everything.
Around the same time, our singer Landon was going through something eerily similar – grappling with the loss of a close friend and questioning his own mortality. Together, we finished the song in a place of raw honesty and shared pain. Though it came from my darkest moment, I was lucky to have friends, family and therapy help pull me through. This song is proof that even in the darkest times, there is hope – and help is out there.”
