Bacchus is a French-speaking progressive rock/metal band from Montreal, founded by Michel Héroux in 1992. Influenced by both the classic progressive rock scene (Yes, Rush, King Crimson) and Quebec rock music (Offenbach, Harmonium), the band stands out for its original blend of progressive rock, metal, and jazz fusion-inspired improvisation.
Following the release of their self-titled debut album in 1994, and growing interest from two Québec record labels, work began on a second album, but it was never completed or released. The band eventually disbanded in 1998.
Le Même Refrain was long regarded as the band’s signature piece, highlighting the sophisticated mix of progressive rock, metal, and jazz fusion that defined its sound. Now, after many messages from fans searching for their music, Bacchus has delivererd. Check out Le Meme Refrain below.
