If you’re wondering why the sky’s are suddenly grim, it probably has a lot to do with gore grind masters Autopsy entering a Californian studio over the weekend to begin recording of their next offering The Headless Ritual.
Former Death drummer Chris Reifert reformed the legendary Bay Area band in 2009 after a 14 year hiatus and then went onto finally release the masterful Macabre Eternal in 2011, a long 16 years after their previous 1995 album Shitfun.
They decided to reform after Reifert reunited the band members to record two tracks for the 20th Anniversary edition of the debut album Severed Survival.
A statement released through the bands label tells us “Expect nothing less than the monstrous brutality that Autopsy has been known to offer. Laurels will not be rested upon, trends will not be followed and mercy will not be shown.”
The Headless Ritual is scheduled to tear you a new one in June and will be out through Peaceville Records.
