We have the Australian Premiere of Abbath’s song Count The Dead, from the upcoming self titled album. Abbath is due out on 22 January 2015.
Abbath spoke with HEAVY writer Steve Jenkins earlier this year about his new album.
“We just finished it in the studio and I listened to the final mastering and it sounds amazing. It sounds very organic, natural and powerful. It’s a very strong recording and the producer did a really good job with the sound. Also the drums are amazing. No triggers or shit like that. It sounds the way a band should sound. I can’t wait to hear the verdict from the rest of the world.”
“ I’m 100% satisfied with how things are going for the first time ever. Now things can be on my terms, which it couldn’t be before, even though I never really had any plans to go off and do a solo project. Some people don’t have the same passion anymore, you know? They have kids and a life outside of music. Maybe they did me a favour, but I’m feeling stronger than ever. I’m playing with the best now, I can’t ask for more. It’s my best album I can safely say and I’m very happy.”
