The CherryRock017 line-up has just been announced… we’ll hand over to James Young to do the honors.
I’m James Young, the owner and booker of Cherry Bar and CherryRock017. I figure, who better to hear from about our latest and greatest 11th annual AC/DC Lane street rock n roll festival, than yours truly, so listen up…
We’re revealing 6 of our Internationals today. We’ve got legendary San Francisco garage punks Dwarves. Southern rock/ psychobilly from Atlanta’s Nashville Pussy. The incredible female two-piece, Bala, from Spain, who sound like Patti Smith out front of Motorhead. Bottlecap must be the bastard triplets of fellow Swedish rockers The Hives and The Hellacopters. Plus the best rock n roll coming from our Indonesian neighbours in Mooner and Kelompok Penerbang Roket (KPR).
But lest we forget our locals. We had to have Totally Unicorn from Wollongong, who ripped River Rocks a new a*sehole last year. The sexy psych-blues of Child. Debbie Harry out front of Eddy Current Suppression Ring is how I see lo-fi garage punksters Amyl & The Sniffers. From the “ninch” (Mornington Peninsula) comes the band on everyone’s lips Stiff Richards, plus the 2016 Cherry Awards Act of the Year, Zombitches. And we’ve still got some incredible aces up our sleeves people! So, don’t miss it and buy your tix early, blah, blah, blah.
