The nominees for the 2025 APRA Music Awards have been announced, a celebration of Australia’s finest songwriters, each vying for one of the year’s most prestigious honours. Leading with four nominations is previous Peer-Voted APRA Song of the Year winner Styalz Fuego, for Troye Sivan’s Got Me Started and Jessica Mauboy feat. Jason Derulo’s smash hit Give You Love, which are both up for Most Performed Australian Work and Most Performed Pop Work.
Picking up two nods is Dom Dolla for Saving Up (Most Performed Australian Work and Most Performed Dance/Electronic Work), Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore for their work with PNAU and Empire of the Sun for AEIOU and Changes (Most Performed Dance/Electronic Work), and King Stingray for Through The Trees (Most Performed Rock Work and Peer-Voted APRA Song of the Year).
An abundance of other first-time nominees making a splash this year include 3%, ChillinIT, Coterie, Dallas Frasca, DON WEST, Joan & The Giants, Kaiit, Kita Alexander, Lithe, Make Them Suffer, Northlane, South Summit, Speed, Sweet Talk, Tobiahs, Windwaker and Zac & George.
The APRA Music Awards celebrate excellence in contemporary music, honouring songwriters and publishers who have achieved artistic excellence and outstanding success in their fields. The recipient of the prestigious Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music will be announced on Tuesday, April 15, followed by the winners of all nominated categories, plus the International Recognition Award, Licensee of the Year, Most Performed Australian Work Overseas and Songwriter of the Year at the awards ceremony at Melbourne Town Hall on Wednesday, April 30.
