Their fuzzy wall of sound is catchier and heavier than ever on the final 802 release of 2024, Princess. The new single by the widely acclaimed independent three-piece is set to be followed by the short film, 1986 Forever, premiering this December. Princess is out now.
This summer, 802 conquered the biggest Scandinavian festivals – including Copenhell and Roskilde Festival – with a musical explosion that created mosh pits of headbangers and pop lovers.
The disco, heavy metal-infused single Princess melds 80s synths with showers of heavy distortion and ghostly hooks and is the fourth single by Andreas Asingh (vocals, keys & drums), Emil Sørensen (guitar) and Kristian Holbæk (bass), who are nominated as New Artist of the Year and New Live Artist of the Year at the Danish metal awards, Den Hårde Tone.
Beyond the Danish borders, 802 has become renowned for their both aesthetic and kitsch short films. A Heavy Metal Bedtime Story received a UK Music Video Awards nomination in 2023, while The Curse of the Velvet Vampire most recently won Best International Short at the international film festival, A Night of Horror.
