At their core, London four-piece New Device are all about classic hard rock. In the style of band’s like Heaven’s Basement, Alter Bridge and The Treatment, New Device sound like they have come straight out of the 80’s.
The band have released two studio albums, 2009’s “Takin’ Over” and 2013’s “Here We Stand”. “Devils On The Run” EP is the second of a four-part instalment of interlinked records over a 12 month period. The first part was 2015’s live album “Takin’ Over London”.
The six-track EP kicks off with Hollywood Radio, and it’s one of the catchiest tracks I’ve heard all year. Frontman Daniel Leigh is an underrated singer. His vocals are incredible and prove to be so on every track. If you’re a fan of Myles Kennedy, you’ll love Leigh’s voice.
Title track Devil On The Run has a very Bon Jovi feel to it. In fact, the opening few lines sound almost exactly like Jon Bon Jovi himself. Whether this is intentional or not it works very well, and Leigh proves his versatility once again in the next track Back To You which is your typical, mellow love song.

The band lift things back into hard rock territory for penultimate track Revolution before bringing it home with Highway. “Devil On The Run” is a hard rocking EP from the hard working New Device and is worth checking out.
