Up for an adventure this weekend? It’s not too late to join in the festivities of this year’s Airlie Beach Festival of Music – with single and three-day tickets still available for purchase via the festival site. With two full days of festivities left, patrons who are close enough to make the trip can skip the fear of missing out and join in on the fun.
Festival founder, Gavin Butlin, said it wasn’t too late to secure a festival pass.
“Three-day passes cost $300 and give you access to all venues and events, and if you can’t make the whole weekend there are day passes for $140,” he said.
Things kicked off on Thursday, November 4, with the festival’s Passport to Airlie busking contest finals, where Brisbanite Mardi Wilson took the cake! All Passport to Airlie acts, including Mardi Wilson, Supertrooper, Legends of Perhaps, Spare Tyre Politics, Kathryn & The Overbytes, Pixie Keenan, Vine Music and Tropical State of Mind, can be found at festival venues over the weekend.
The Main Tent of the ninth annual Airlie Beach Festival of Music is running from November 5-7, with the first night having seen incredible world-class performances from Hussy Hicks; Busby Marou; Sarah McLeod; Russell Morris; and Butterfingers.
There’s still plenty of juicy acts left to see over the weekend. Today the main stage will be graced by Alex Lloyd; The Jingo Brother ft. Steady Eddy and Jolly Jingo; Toni Childs; Waywards Suns; Viper Syndicate; and the Angels.
Tomorrow we’ll be seeing Lucy Gallant; Kieran McCarthy Band; Brian Cadd; Troy Cassar-Daley; and John Schumann (The Red Gum Years).
In addition to the main stage line-up at the idyllic waterfront location of the Whitsunday Sailing Club, the festival runs a live music program at participating Airlie Beach venues, including Anchor Bar, Beaches, Boaty’s, Fish D’vine, KC’s Bar and Grill, Magnums, Paradiso, Sorrento Restaurant and Bar, Treehouse, and the Whisper Restaurant & Gin Bar at Mirage Whitsundays.
