DARK DOWN SOUTH OPEN AIR Set To Light Up WA

Dark Down South Open Air heavy metal festival is the only open air metal fest left in WA, and one of the last remaining in the whole of Australia. “This is one of Australia’s last remaining heavy metal festivals and it’s rapidly gaining a lot of excitement through the metal community across Australia. With many festivals cancelling recently, or deciding not to continue into the future, this event is in-demand and has never been more needed. The best part is, we get to bring heavy metal to regional fans at an old-school festival, rather than them having to travel all the way to Perth,” organisers said.

DDS is now in its third year and continuing to gain a cult following, due to the close-knit community vibe and the sheer talent on stage. This year has seen bands apply from across Australia, and one all the way from Mexico City busting their chops to join the lineup. Showcasing the full array of metal genres from brutal thrash to break-neck grindcore, death metal, doom, and everything in between.

Presented by Dark Wolf Touring, Dark Down South is a family-friendly all ages event with free camping on site and a BYO (no glass) policy. Patrons will be able to buy food and snacks on site, and there is a full merchandise shop on site as well. BYO is allowed as there is no bar available, but glass is strictly prohibited for everyone’s safety. Patrons must drink responsibly. A total fire ban is also in place to protect the surrounding natural bushland and nearby community. Please don’t bring animals, glass or start fires.

Young ones under the age of 17 need to be accompanied by a ticket-holding parent or legal guardian. Kids 10 and under are free, everyone else needs a ticket. Family passes are available. Tickets HERE
