South Australian alternative rock band Gernz have taken that universally understood moment and transformed it into OW!, a deceptively simple new single out now. Produced, mixed and mastered by Thomas Wilson in Mount Gambier, South Australia, OW! draws inspiration from the stripped-back, atmospheric alternative rock of bands from the 90s like The Breeders, Nirvana, and Pixies. The result is a track that feels immediate, familiar and effortlessly memorable, built around an infectious chorus that’s almost impossible not to sing along with.
