Founded by Chester Illed in 2022 in Normandy, France, The Sickness Stars is a project born during the Covid-19 pandemic. Its core mission is to explore the deepest vulnerabilities within any line of thought, whether individual, societal, or existential.
Initially rooted in punk rock and experimental sounds, the band self-released their electro-acoustic debut album Into The Pit. Over time, they embraced a darker and more complex identity, drawing inspiration from electro-industrial, post-punk, and avant-garde pioneers such as Ministry, Killing Joke, and Skinny Puppy. These influences come to full expression in their recent single, Igno-manic, a testament to their sonic evolution and ideological legacy.
Chant of Willpower and Fame is the second of a trilogy of double singles by electro-Industrial rock band The Sickness Stars. Lyrically, the song explores themes such as industrial supremacy, ambition and political narcissism. Musically, the song is inspired by old school 90s rock and metal.
