Mothica – the LA-based singer, performer, and visual artist McKenzie Ellis – has digitally released her new EP Somewhere In Between (mothicorp’s lofi breakroom beats), a hypnotic reworking of her acclaimed debut for SharpTone Records.
Recorded at Mothicorp Studios in collaboration with Nathan Miller AKA Icarus Moth, the new collection sees the Somewhere in Between EP’s five original heavy and dynamic tracks fully remixed beyond recognition.
“Somewhere In Between has always lived in an emotional and liminal space for me. Turning these songs into lo-fi remixes with Nathan Miller only felt natural,” McKenzie explains. “I wanted them to feel like memories you revisit at 2am, softer, dreamier and a little haunted. I’m so excited to have these on a cassette designed by Madison Schubert so my fans can feel the nostalgia in this sound even more.”
