Hailing from South-East Queensland, KALATONE are a four-piece band formed out of a mutual respect for meaty riffs, propulsive drums and soaring vocals to bring their own personal sound to progressive rock and metal. Having released their debut EP in 2025, Kalatone have developed a set of songs ranging from ethereal soundscapes, through banging riffs, to brutal all out aural assaults.
In a world of polished perfection and digital shortcuts, KALATONE focus on capturing the human element. Their sound embraces imperfections, emotion, and the energy of real musicians creating in real time, prioritising feel over filters.
The song Firestarter is the breakout single of the EP. It signifies the birth of KALATONE and the flame in which all this started. Lyrically it’s driven by the will and determination to become bigger and better, not just in music, but in all things. It’s pumping, it’s driving. It’s KALATONE.
