Australia’s fastest-rising Neo-Surf Rock disruptors, Wave Raiders, are back with ‘Nothing Better’, the title track and final single from their debut 4-track EP, alongside the announcement of a slot on Brisbane Good Things Festival ‘Garage Band Stage’ on Sunday 7 December.
The Sunshine Coast trio are creating their own brand of Neo-Surf Rock Psychedelia. With breakout singles, viral festival moments (including being called onstage by Spiderbait to play ‘Calypso’ in front of 10,000 fans), and a relentless drive to evolve, the band are rapidly becoming one of Australia’s most exciting new rock exports.
Already recognised as one of the country’s hardest-working young bands, Triple J selected Wave Raiders for the 2025 Unearthed High Yearbook, noting previous single ‘My Way’ as a head-banger “most likely to headline a seaside festival.”
The band’s latest single, ‘Nothing Better’, delivers their most sun-drenched, laid-back anthem yet, a track that captures the feeling of hanging out with your mates, soaking up the beach breeze, and not caring about anything except the moment.
‘Nothing Better’ is about chilling out on the beach with mates, listening to tunes, and not giving a toss about what anyone else thinks. It’s our idea of a more chilled song, but it still packs a punch and has a touch of rebellion.‘ – Wave Raiders
