Punk rock 4-piece Civic slid into the GC last Thursday to a pumped crowd of punters at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse.
Fresh back from their UK and Europe tour, where they shredded the stage at Binic Festival in France, frontman Jim McCullough said it was the opportunity of a lifetime, “I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to tour the world with the band”. Jim says that as much as the international stages are incredible experiences, he loves nothing more than touring back here at home and doing shows like tonight.
“I love the Goldy the people at our shows are hardcore punk fans that get right into our music it’s the best”. They definitely delivered the goods again, playing a solid set of their most popular tracks to a frothing crowd of fans old and young.
The introduction of the Thursday Sneaky Mid Weeky at Mo’s is making some notable traction, pulling good-sized crowds and showcasing someof Australia’s finest bands and artists. One in particular to keep an ear out for was the support act for Civic at last night’s gig.
Coldwave, who hail from Radelaide delivered one mighty fine set to warm up the crowd. A six piece of fresh faced youngsters impressed the audience with their unique sound and undeniable talents. The best way to describe their sound? Picture a mashup remix of Tool with Henry Rollins (Spoken Word Album), doing a version of Baz Luhrmann’s Everybody’s Free (To Where Sunscreen) with a trumpet thrown in just because.
Safe to say, all bands on stage slapped hard and gave the crowd the goods. 🤘
