Melody Black was formed in 2010 from former members of Jerk, Mass Appeal, Candy Harlots and Killing Time. Their debut show was a sellout at Sydney’s Sandringham Hotel.
They went on to open for Misfits and Rose Tattoo among others and headlined several Australian tours, with their debut album released through Warner Bros. Records, and highly rated in Rolling Stone. The band released a supercharged version of Sweet‘s classic Ballroom Blitz, which went to #1 on the iTunes metal chart in 2012 and had their music videos featured on MTV and Channel V.
And then things went quiet. The world was resigned to the reality that Melody Black may not play again, so the band have listened. They have heard the silent cries for justice and have announced a one-off reunion show at Crowbar Sydney on August 9 – their first show in 13 years. The performance also coincides with the album being available for streaming for the first time ever.
