Singer-songwriter Hannah Nalley (Missouri) teams up with genre-bending musicians Mama No Likey — the cross-continental duo formed by Detroit-made Will Haupricht and Australian native Troy Gale — for their debut collaboration, Mrs. Davis, dropping this Friday on all platforms.
The track is a striking mix of Southern gothic, classic rock, and punk pop, telling the story of a once-glamorous woman unravelling in suburbia — and eventually snapping. Nalley had the original lyrics sketched out, centered around the haunting line “she’s heavily medicated, but damn she looks good.” When Mama No Likey sent over a brooding, cinematic melody, it unlocked the rest of the story: a pill-popping ex-it girl turned housewife, betrayed, dismissed, and underestimated — until she wasn’t.
With lines like “she’s done up, but she ain’t dumb” and “don’t underestimate the Palo Verde housewives,” Nalley’s lyrics channel femme fatale energy with a sharp-witted, emotionally raw lens. It’s a modern revenge fable with dirty gins and Jimmy Choos — and it ends in blood.
