A new band has emerged from the gloom, and it’s bringing something strange with it.
The Pinetree Tapes is a melodic death metal duo with a sound rooted in the frostbitten energy of bands like Children of Bodom and Norther. Each track is part of a secretive archive of haunted audio diaries found and restored by Weinhardt himself. Each one tells part of a larger, unsettling folklore – stories lost to time, half-told, half-earthly.
Following the success of the debut single These Woods Are Haunted, which drew praise for its atmospheric tension and nods to early melodic death metal, The Pinetree Tapes return with Downhearted Mill.
