New Zealand artist SubSpec has dropped his three-pronged single Synthetic Emergence.
Containing the title track, Dawn of Megiddo (a Celtic Frost cover) and the instrumental Chthonic Cimmeria, Synthetic Emergence was recorded with Ollie Harmer at The Lab Studios Mt Eden on the beautiful Neve mixing desk, Auckland in May and June 2024.
Vintage or vintage – inspired hardware instruments were used exclusively (no software except for sending midi signals to control the equipment) for the recording including 5 (mostly 90s issued) drum machines recorded simultaneously to create a nice solid sound and a selection of synths of various vintages.
