With the countdown to Necrosonic Festival at The Mansfield Tavern in Brisbane on August 31 now on, HEAVY thought it appropriate to introduce you to the bands playing on the day, two at a time, starting from today until the day of the show.
Conjured by one of the dark architects behind the legendary Overcranked, Inferno and Dead of Winter Festivals, Necrosonic heralds a day filled with unrelenting brutality and the heaviest, most sinister sounds that the underworld has to offer, some even returning from the dead for the ritual.
Hosting 30 bands across three stages over 12 hours, Necrosonic Festival promises to satiate even the heaviest of hungers. Today, we introduce you to Kyzer Soze and Remains.

KYZER SOZE
KYZER SOZE are an Australian black/death metal band hailing from Brisbane. The band are known for delivering an equally aggressive/unrelenting and formidable live performance.
Kyzer Soze released their debut album (ASCENSION) in early 2015, mixed and mastered by renowned Danish producer Jacob Hansen (ABORTED, DYSCARNATE, TYR) and have supported high-profile bands such as THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ABORTED, PSYCROPTIC, AT THE GATES, HIGH ON FIRE & ULCERATE, having also toured extensively throughout Australia forcing their aggressive live show upon whoever bared witness.
Midway through 2015 after the release of their album ASCENSION, KYZER SOZE became a four piece, this didn’t slow the band’s momentum as they quickly adapted to the change and continued to play shows all whilst pushing the band’s new dynamic into a bigger and darker sound. As of February 2018 KYZER SOZE has been on indefinite hiatus, with members needing time away to focus on personal life responsibilities and career paths.
2024 brings their return, with KYZER SOZE back in full force, writing and rehearsing new material, which can be witnessed live in the coming months of 2024.
REMAINS
Remains are grindcore/deathmetal maniacs from Melbourne, Australia formed in 2019 and featuring members of highly reputed bands Blood Duster, Captain Cleanoff, The Kill, Fuck I’m Dead, King and The Day Everything Became Nothing.
They play extreme stadium grind with epic blasting assaults and wind-milling rockin’ hooks to blow your
fucken lids clean off.
