Born and raised in the din of Paris’ suburbs, JIRO is a Molotov cocktail, a mix of antagonistic emotions, a quest for meaning through the new millennium’s false pretence.
With Covid 19 falling onto the world, all perspective of an artistic career is shut down, and the future is very uncertain for those five musicians, friends since their teenage years. In this perfect moment of doubt, they decide to record their first album, Resilience. Fully auto produced, this project is the result of an impulse to create powerful yet nuanced music, endlessly exploring the musicality of their instruments.
There is not much of an alternative: It must be heavy, crushing, thunderous. The riff is an exact science in the eyes of the band, fooling no one when it works. JIRO uses the codes of extreme genres such as metal and hardcore to reach the acme of power while building momentum through stoner and progressive parts, giving clarity to the lyrics.
