At a time when music documentaries are actually better than anything Hollywood can produce, a story comes out that will pull at your heartstrings and possibly even temporarily put a stop to every metal heads favourite past time, ‘Lars Bashing’.
‘Mission To Lars’, the documentary about two British siblings that “bust out” their brother from his nursing home and take him on the road trip of a lifetime. To meet his hero, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich.
Why is this story special and why is Tom in a nursing home? He has Fragile X syndrome, a type of Autism and all he’s ever wanted is to meet Lars.
This poignant tale has finally been given the green light for DVD/Blu-Ray distribution and will be released next week in Australia and New Zealand by Curios Film.
The man himself, Lars, has even done a special half an hour interview that has been included as an extra feature for the release.
All funds raised through the sale will go to Mencap, a UK non profit charity helping men with learning disabilities. Everyone involved with the project has donated their time and music for free.
