Eora/Sydney-based alt-rock quartet Live Like Animals have just unleashed their genre-transfiguring penchant with enveloping new single The White Room, produced by Brad Telfer Audio (Reliqa) and mixed and mastered by Chris Blancato (Northlane).

Opening with a merciless punch to the jugular, The White Room heralds a propelling intensity saturated with electrifying hooks, aggressive riffs and vibrant synths. The ever-present pop sensibilities create a rich sonic tapestry for vocalist Nic Roy‘s spectacular vocal range that shapeshifts between powerful belts and cathartic screams. Lyrically, Roy explores the debilitating isolation of chronic anxiety, recounting the overwhelming sensation of thoughts rushing at a million miles while at a loss to find relief.

Keyboardist Brendan Grace talks about the inspiration behind The White Room: “‘The White Room’ is the foundation of the world we are building based on Nic’s mind. As the first of six rooms, it delves into Nic’s experiences with panic, anxiety, and overthinking. The subsequent track, ‘Bleach’, is the room of frustration, anger, and the quest for justice, reflecting the ongoing struggles faced by gender-diverse individuals and other minorities in today’s society. ‘Modern State of Mind’ sets the tone as the somewhat-literal elevator music, seamlessly guiding listeners between rooms as they explore various states of mind.”
