Morningstar is the latest release from Sydney-based hard rock band The Grand Union.
It is a blues-drenched ode to the pioneers of rock n’ roll, inspired by the life and times of the great
Robert Johnson. Listeners are taken to the Mississippi with thumping guitar riffs and soulful singing about the tales of those gave their life to the blues.
As well as having a big energy chorus, the song shines through its slide guitar work and contains a
haunting breakdown which then crashes into a rapid guitar solo. If you stick around until the end, you’re in for a pleasant surprise with a reprise that makes you feel like you’re a fly on the wall of a Delta blues saloon.
