Satirical power metal outfit Powerdong are here to breathe life back into metal.
While all three members have a Conservatory Degree in music that is where the seriousness of the equation ends.
After initially forming Omnus fresh out of the Conservatory, Geir Wetterhus (guitars and music engineering), Christian Foldal (guitars, composer) and Ola Moum (composition and keyboards) the three friends decided to explore the musical side of their satirical humour and thus PowerDong was born.
The band have released their debut self titled EP, as well as the music video for Sanctuary.
Sanctuary is about how much of a “groundhog day” life can be sometimes, and the refrain is about finding solace in online gaming with the humour being the overly epic music set to such text.
This song showcases but one side to the musical disparity evident within PowerDong, with many other personalities revealed throughout the EP.
