Melbourne’s Stormtide hit their listeners with more force than any destructive storm Mother Nature could muster with the self-titled opener, Wrath of an Empire. Check out the guitar solo that rips in this track below.

These six talented musicians bring their own form of symphonic metal blending in elements of death and fantasy that is world class. It is no wonder the band have signed with US label, Metal Hell Records and were chosen supports for big name bands such as Eluveitie, Finntroll and Gloryhammer.
Here we have nine solid tracks that are sure to get one headbanging to the growls of vocalist Taylor Stirrat as the band hit the nail on its head with precision. Apart from the album opener Sage of Stars is a stand out with some chugging riffs from the guitar duo of Tyson Richens and Nic Woodhouse. The bass groove of Simon Fragiotta stands out on this track more than Satan spotted at Church. A Heroes Legacy with its Keyboards/Orchestrations from Reuben Stone is more epic than Braveheart, ending with a nifty guitar lead that blends into next track the folk-inspired A Ride To Ruin.
All good things must come to an end with the final track, The Green Duck, with drummer Jake Pickering providing more changes than any weather forecast. The band really seem to have fun jamming to this one and it makes you want to bring out the air guitar, drums, fiddle, broom or pots if you don’t own any musical instrument that is.
