Terror Parade, the horror-goth metal band out of Brisbane, have just released their brand new film clip ‘Ghost’.
The track has been written as an aural representation of ghosts and the childhood fear of the shadows behind the drapes and the monster under the bed.
“We wanted to make our listeners relive those eerie nightmares,” explains vocalist Miss Rampage.
“This song is written about “Fear of the Invisible” from a naïve and childish perception. However the gravity of this fear in an adult’s mind is magnified – be it fear of the dark, paranormal forces, paranoia OR the fear of surfacing ones deepest insecurities and inner demons. We fight this fear on a daily basis so we can mask our self-doubt and uncertainty of the fear of perception by others” she says.
“The lyrics ‘I am the ghost inside your mind, ingesting the poison and you will be mine’ depict the state of mind when you are consumed and frozen still in your own self-doubt. The constant negative thoughts contributing towards the paranoia is the ‘poison’ you are ingesting until you give them absolute control and become a victim of your own mind,” Miss Rampage continues.
The clip was put together by Luke McClean of Shots For Bands and the visual effects have really tied in well with the track. The creepy vibe was enhanced by the VHS overlay and the spooky images that they sourced.
“We talked about putting archive footage together to create something eerie to suit the song. I researched a lot of paranormal, scary and dark archive footage and Luke pieced it all together to give the song a narrative and a visual. The old VHS overlay adds to the ominous feeling. We used a lot of landscapes to reiterate the fear of the invisible- you can’t see anything but there is some eeriness about it,” Miss Rampage says.
