Seims: Seims

The divide between high quality instrumental or post-rock music to below average is very clear cut. It is near impossible to have an inbetween and fortunately in the case of SEIMS the one man brain-child of Simeon Bartholomew, this project definitely meets the high calibre standard of these genres. This debut album flows so organically it borderlines perfection, with the only issues being it can feel like the record is in fact just one long track instead of the fourteen. With an influence of math-rock submitting it’s influence into what Mr. Bartholomew has created, it is obvious just how talented this Sydney musician is. The track OUTOUT is easily a favourite with almost an early nintendo keyboard presence graciously adding a whole new atmosphere to what had already been heard, it’s easy to get lost in and more than pleasant all the same. Whilst this is not quite at the brilliance of 65daysofstatic, this is worth any post-rock, math-rock or instrumental enthusiasts time.
