DENTAL PLAN Front Their Demons

Share This:

Melbourne rock outfit Dental Plan have recently dropped their latest single “Hole In Me”, which shows the heavier side of the band and is accompanied by an almost sinister video clip that sees the band members trying to escape the clutches of a deranged dentist before escaping and turning the tables on him in emphatic fashion.

Vocalist/guitarist Niam sat down for a chat with HEAVY during the week to run us through the single.

“It’s kind of a heavy grunge song,” he said, “going back to our days as teenagers listening to grunge growing up. A lot of our old stuff has been a bit more melodic, punk stuff but we chuck in some heavier stuff here and there so this is one of those heavier songs. It’s fun to play some heavier stuff live and it’s good to finally get this one out there.”

In the full interview Niam discusses the heavier direction on this song and the reasons for it, talks us through the film clip and how it came about, having comedian Ben Russell play the titular dentist and the assortment of predicaments they placed him in, future music from the band and what direction it will take, how COVID impacted Dental Plan and more.
